Wilf James
Photography has been a lifelong pursuit for me, beginning more than forty years ago with film and the traditional darkroom. Those early experiences taught me patience and an awareness of light that continues to shape how I photograph today.
My work explores landscapes, wildlife, and portraiture, often focusing on quiet moments that reveal character, atmosphere, and connection. In recent years I have spent extended time photographing in the Camargue in southern France, drawn to the remarkable beauty and spirit of the white horses and the landscape they inhabit.
Alongside my personal photography, I founded World Photo Adventure, where I organise small group workshops that bring photographers together to learn, explore, and share the experience of making images.
This site presents a selection of recent work while a much larger archive of photographs — including images from my early film years — continues to be digitised and prepared for the future.
